Family Recipe Friday - Grandma Koch's Orange Cake 1862

FROM GRANDMA FLO'S RECIPE BOX

This is an interesting recipe I found in my grandmother's recipe box. It is a recipe from her grandmother Margaret  Werhle Koch. I don't know how she obtained this recipe.

GRANDMA KOCHS ORANGE CAKE 1862

2 cups sugar
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup water
2 whole eggs & 3 egg yolks us whites for frosting
2 tsp cream of Tartar
1 tsp soda

Juice of 1 orange
grate rind for frosting

It is interesting that it appears to be just of list of ingredients. It doesn't say what pan to put it in, what temperature to cook it or for how long.
